We are thrilled to announce Between Structure and Spirit, Bill Burns' first solo exhibition with Collective Z and his second solo show in New York. The exhibition brings together a new body of paintings that navigate the charged space between discipline and intuition — between the material and the transcendent.
Trained as a designer with over a decade at Pottery Barn, Burns brings a rigorous compositional intelligence to painting that never forecloses on the unexpected. His canvases accumulate color and gesture in layers, pressing toward light with a quality that is simultaneously architectural and atmospheric. The works do not preach — they breathe.

Everlasting Light I, 2025
24 × 24 in

Beyond the Ephemeral I, 2025 · Acrylic on canvas · 54 × 34 in
Burns' practice is rooted in the belief that art can offer solace, hope, and resilience in uncertain times. The paintings ask viewers not to analyze but to feel — to enter the space of the canvas and allow it to shift something interior.
